Free “History Talks” resume at the Schmidt House in Tumwater! Thursday, October 2, 2025 at noon hear inspiring stories from the book New Land: Southeast Asian Refugees Finding Home in Washington. The book is a collection of conversations with Vietnamese, Lao, and Cambodian refugees who resettled in Washington after Governor Evans opened Washington’s door, giving the refugees a new land and a new home.
