Foster Fest, a carnival-themed event that blends fun and support of local animals in need, is Monday, August 11, 2025 from 4-6pm at the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County. Foster Fest will have stations to explore and passport stamps to collect for a chance to win a $50 Petco gift card. You’ll also have the opportunity to tour the shelter and sample some carnival-inspired treats. Learn more about the Humane Society’s foster program and discover how you can help shelter pets on their journey toward loving homes! Most animals in the shelter are eligible for fostering, including dogs, cats, bunnies and guinea pigs.
If you plan to attend Foster Fest and hope to take home your first foster pet that night, please pre-register online. If you’re not sure about committing just yet, don’t let that deter you! Stop by and explore the possibilities. There will be a chance to complete an application and background check during Foster Fest, and you’ll be able to make an appointment to pick up your foster pet later in the week.
