Aidan Key, founder of TransFamilies, and Ren Cedar Fuller, TransFamilies parent facilitator, lead a conversation at Orca Books Sunday, November 30, 2025 4pm about helping trans children thrive. Key’s book Trans Children in Today’s Schools was featured on NPR’s Fresh Air. Fuller’s essay collection, Bigger, explores raising a gender-diverse child.
Aidan Key, founder of Gender Diversity, is a national consultant for school districts, sports organizations, and youth agencies about supporting gender diverse children. He also founded TransFamilies.org, which provides online support nationally to families of gender diverse children. He was named one of Seattle Magazine’s Most Influential People of the Year as well as the Greater Seattle Business Association’s Humanitarian of the Year.
Ren Cedar Fuller’s debut book Bigger won the Autumn House Press Nonfiction Prize and was named a “most anticipated Fall 2025 Book” by The Millions. Her essays have appeared in Brevity, New England Review, and North American Review, and been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and Best American Essays. Ren is a parent facilitator at TransFamilies, an online hub for families with gender diverse children. After teaching public school, she founded a nonprofit preschool, where she continues teaching parent education.
