Brokeback Mountain returns to the big screen at Olympia Film Society’s Capitol Theater for its 20th Anniversary July 11, July 12, and July 17, 2025. Ang Lee’s celebrated film follows Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) and Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal), two young men dispatched to work as on the majestic Brokeback Mountain in the summer of 1963. During their experience, Ennis and Jack are drawn into an unexpected lifelong relationship, filled with love and loss and unfolding against the raw beauty and splendor of the American West. Brokeback Mountain achieved extensive critical acclaim, winning three Academy Awards from eight nominations.
