Simpson Railroad, 10138 W Shelton Matlock Road, Shelton. Simpson Railroad’s Pumpkin Picker’s Special Saturday, October 22nd and Sunday, October 23rd 10am-4pm starts with a ride aboard the Simpson Railroad trailer car. Then there’s a hay bale straw maze to navigate through – hopefully it is not haunted with loggers past. Grab a cup of hot cider to sip while you listen to not-too-scary short stories. Don’t forget to stop at the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin to take home. Keep an eye out for trick or treat candy. Kids are encouraged to wear and show off their costumes.
Chehalis Train Depot, 1101 Southwest Sylvenus St., Chehalis. Train excursions are currently suspended as the track is out of service, but you can still get on the train at the depot for a fun event. Games, treats, a pumpkin patch and a costume contest for all age groups under 15 will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 22nd and 23rd, at 1:00 and 3:00pm. The cost is $15 per person and includes a pumpkin and a goody bag. Children 2 and under free. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Downtown Chehalis. Trick or Treat Transit, all day Monday, October 31st. Get ready to show off your Halloween costume! Trick Or Treat Transit event is fun for all ages and allows for a safe FREE trick or treat experience. Starting in downtown Chehalis you and your little goblins can hop on a Twin Transit bus that will take you to various stops in Chehalis and Centralia to collect candy and fun treats! Twin Cities Senior Center, 2545 N. National Ave., Chehalis. Join them for some witchy fun on Saturday, October 22nd, from 10-4pm! Shop vendors for crystals, jewelry, spell bags, Halloween items, and more. Learn to DIY wire wraps, make your own incense, create a potion bottle, or make a spell sachet. Bring the family, plenty of fun for all. Bring your lunch and have a picnic in the park. While you’re here paint a pumpkin and enjoy the atmosphere!

Grand Farms, 17616 S Vaughn Rd. NW, Vaughn. My Haunted Forest, a Medieval alternate reality with dragons and other mythical beasts lurking in the woods, is open every Friday and Saturday in October from 6 pm to 11 pm, plus the last three Sundays of October from 6 pm to 9 pm, and Thursday, October 27th, from 6 pm to 9 pm. The first hour of the haunt is kid-friendly. Free parking. This year they have timed entries so please make sure to show up before your entrance time to get parked and scan your tickets in. The bucolic town of Bucoda changes its name to BOO-coda for the month of October, with many events planned, highlighted by the BOO-coda Haunted House at the Bucoda Gym, 402 N. Nenant St. Award-winning haunted house every Friday and Saturday, with extended hours Halloween week. Show your ticket stub from Rutledge Corn Maze and get $3 off regular admission. Family friendly haunted houses are on October 28th and 29th from 6-9pm (reduced prices).
