The first meeting of the Orca Books Cooperative Women’s Liberation Book Club will be held on Friday, September 15th at 6:00 p.m. They will be meeting to discuss the monumental text by Mary Wollstonecraft, A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, from 1792, which attacked the prevailing view of docile, decorative femininity, and instead laid out the principles of emancipation: an equal education for girls and boys, an end to prejudice, and for women to become defined by their profession, not their partner.
