On Friday, May 14, 2021, United Way of Pierce County is turning 100 years old! To kick off a year-long celebration, help us celebrate by donating non-perishable food at our drive-up birthday party May 14 11am-2pm in conjunction with Hunger Awareness Month! We’ll have some fun gifts for the first 100 people to arrive at each location and we’ll have live music you can hear from your car. If you are unable to attend, you can make a monetary donation that will go directly to our goal of feeding 100 families.
We are celebrating 100 years of building a thriving community for everyone and creating possibilities together. United Way of Pierce County identifies and works to address our community’s most critical problems—together, we will lift 15,000 families out of poverty by 2028.
We’re holding the event at three different locations:
- United Way of Pierce County’s parking lot, located at 1501 Pacific Ave., Tacoma.
- Lakewood City Hall, 6000 Main St SW, Lakewood.
- Washington State Fairgrounds, 110 9th Ave SW, Puyallup.
We appreciate your non-perishable food donations to benefit Hunger Free Pierce County food bank partners. We’re asking for any of the following items:
- Nut butters
- Canned fruits
- Canned vegetables
- Baby food and formula
- Healthy hot and cold cereals
- Kids’ snacks
- Canned chili or stew
- Canned proteins (like chicken and tuna)
- Canned meals (like ravioli)
- Grocery gift cards
- *Please* no expired food
