The Tacoma Moon Festival at Chinese Reconciliation Park Saturday, September 14th, 2024 1-7pm puts a special focus on Tacoma’s Mexican and Latinx communities and traditions alongside those of our Asian & Pacific communities. Chinese culture will bookend the festival with the Mak Fai Lion Dance Association opening the festival at 1pm and the Hwa Sheng Chinese Opera Club closing it at 6pm. In between, the Karisma Dancing Group showcases contemporary Vietnamese dance and Cambodian classical and folk dance, and Guma Imahe presents the song and dance traditions of the Chamorro people of the Mariana Islands in the Pacific. As always, the festival will close with a lantern parade at 6:45.
