Like indie rock? Every Sunday through August 14th at 3pm, KXXO’s own Markly Morrison presents the Scherler Sundays Free Summer Concert Series outside behind the Historic Carnegie Library, 620 Franklin St SE, Olympia, WA 98501, with interviews with the artists followed by ABSOLUTELY FREE and ALL AGES performances. Band donations are encouraged. Seating is limited, and lawn chairs are welcome. Scherler beer and food will be available for purchase.
Featuring: Doug Martsch (Built to Spill, Treepeople, Halo Benders), Michael Hurley, John Atkins (764-HERO, Hush Harbor, Sun Breaks), Olivia Rose (Oh, Rose), Lake, Lavender Country, The Mona Reels, Generifus, Austin Leonard Jones, Dev Ray, Waves Crashing, Null State, Annie Schultz, James Maeda, Zachary Cole, Jack Habegger’s Celebrity Telethon, The Pine Hearts, Hot Pursuit of Happiness, Kelsey Magnuson, Lee Baggett, Ali Baker and Dylan Shearer.
All shows will be ALL AGES, and ABSOLUTELY FREE. The only thing we ask in return is for those visiting Downtown Olympia to make a weekend of it, and support our amazing locally owned businesses! Covid has hit our community extra hard, as Downtown has built its entire economy on state office workers spending money Downtown five days a week. However, most state office workers are still telecommuting, which has really pulled the financial rug out from under our business community at a time when we’re all still struggling to recover from the ramifications of the pandemic. So get out there and SUPPORT! And don’t forget to tip the bands who are giving us an incredible deal for their talent and hard work!
