Based on the real experience of a brave little girl, the Civil Rights Legacy Tour brings a free production of “Ruby Bridges: A Civil Rights Journey” to Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 3pm. The year is 1960 and six-year old Ruby braves hate and racism when she becomes the first African-American student at an all-white public school. This play explores what Ruby’s first days would have been like as the only student in the classroom because white families would not let their children attend class with her. Follow Ruby’s journey as she develops a special bond with her white teacher Mrs. Henry. Free but pre-registration required.
