General Contest Rules (revised 10/19/22)

Representatives of KXXO will serve as contest judges; all decisions made by the judges are final.

The odds of winning any KXXO contest will depend on the actual number of qualified contestants.

  • For a listener to a call-in contest, the listener must be the correct caller on the KXXO Listener Line, 360-943-9696, and must completely and correctly follow the instructions given on the air, according to the specific guidelines of that contest.
  • In the case of registration contests, entries must be handwritten originals only, and all entries must be filled out completely. Incomplete entries, or copies of entries, will not be accepted.
  • In the case of online contests, entries must be received at KXXO Mixx 96.1 by the deadline specified.

KXXO assumes no responsibility for problems involving telephone equipment or services, or failures of email services.

Except where noted, participation in contests is not limited by age.

ONLINE USERS: Only persons living in (and/or employed in) the KXXO geographic listening area are eligible to participate in, and win, a KXXO or KXXO.com contest except as noted.

All persons employed by KXXO radio, 3 Cities Inc., or any of the various advertisers sponsoring a particular contest, their officers, employees, agents, affiliates, successors, assignees and contractors, their agencies and/or immediate families, are not eligible to participate in, or win, a KXXO contest. Futhermore, no one employed by another radio station in the market may enter KXXO contests or win prizes from KXXO.

Entrants will be eliminated from participation in a KXXO contest immediately after failure to comply with any one (or more) of the general contest rules.

KXXO prize winners agree to accept all prizes in “as is” condition. No warranties of any kind are implied or offered unless so specified in rules governing a particular contest.

All winners may be asked to present proper identification (defined herein as a birth certificate or valid driver license) in order to claim a KXXO contest prize. Prizes may be claimed at KXXO radio, 119 NE Washington St., Olympia, WA 98501 Monday through Friday from 7am until 5 pm, excluding holidays.

REVISED 10/19/22: Only one person per household is eligible to win each regular on-air KXXO contest prize every 30 days, unless otherwise specified in rules governing a particular contest. Regular contests as of this writing include “Tri-Bond” at approximately 7:40am and “That’s Not Right” at approximately 3:20pm.

All prizes must be claimed within 30 days of the day they were awarded.

KXXO contest prizes are non-transferable without prior authorization from KXXO.

No substitution of prizes by winner is allowed. However, KXXO reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal (or greater) value if the prize is generally unavailable at the time the prize is awarded.

KXXO assumes no responsibility for problems involving redemption of prize(s) from a promotional partner due to force majeure, bankruptcy, business closing, concert cancellation, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Generally, winners under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian in order to claim a KXXO contest prize. If the prize is a trip or vacation, contest winners must be at least 21 years of age, or must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All federal, state, and local laws apply to KXXO contests. All applicable tax liabilities that may result from winning a KXXO contest are the sole responsibility of the contest winner. All contestants agree to the use of their name, voice, likeness and basic personal information for promotional purposes in any and all media that may be selected for use by KXXO radio, KXXO.com, and/or 3 Cities, Inc.

The signature of winners and/or the acceptance of contest prizes constitutes an agreement to hold KXXO radio, 3 Cities Inc., all the various participating advertisers, their officers, employees, agents, affiliates, successors, assignees and contractors, harmless against any and all claims of liability arising directly or indirectly from participation in a KXXO contest, or arising from the acceptance of (or the use of) the contest prize.
